SilverCrest completes first metals pour at Santa Elena

SilverCrest Mines Inc. (TSXV: SVL) has successfully completed its first metals pour of gold and silver dore at its Santa Elena Mine located in Sonora, México.

Gold and silver production will continue to escalate over the next 4 months, as ore tonnes under leach and recovery rates increase. There are currently an estimated 100,000 tonnes of ore stacked on the leach pad, with approximately 60,000 tonnes under leach. SilverCrest anticipates that the mine will reach design capacity by the end of the year.

Norwest and Bharat schedule official signing ceremony

Norwest Energy (ASX: NWE) has been notified by Indian upstream company Bharat PetroResources Ltd (“BPRL”) that it will visit Perth on Friday, 17 September to attend an Official Ceremony to sign the farm-in documents.

On 18 August, BPRL executed a letter of intent with Norwest Energy (ASX: NWE), for a farm-in to two of Norwest’s Perth Basin permits – EP413 and TP/15 – by agreeing to provide up to $15m in exploration and drilling funding.

The high level Bharat delegation coming to Perth will comprise:
Mr. S. Radhakrishnan – Chairman Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited,
Mr. D. Rajkumar – Managing director Bharat PetroResources Limited; and
Mr. K Mukherjee – Manager Assets Bharat PetroResources Limited.

Whilst the transaction is subject to BPRL completing its due diligence on Norwest, they have advised that satisfactory progress has been made and that subject to nothing untoward arising they will be in Perth on 17 September to sign the agreements.

The farm-out transaction is also subject to Western Australian Department of Mines and Petroleum approval.

Minotaur completes aeromagnetic survey over Mutooroo

Minotaur Exploration Ltd (ASX: MEP) announces that a low-level, high-resolution, heli-borne aeromagnetic survey flown at the Mutooroo Magnetite Project located in South Australia, 90km south-west of Broken Hill, has been successfully completed.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Survey specifications included flight-line spacing of 50m and terrain clearance of 25m.
The high-quality data permit detailed delineation of multiple, closely-spaced, magnetite-bearing horizons.
Interpretation of processed imagery will guide drill exploration along the Braemar Iron Formation

RCR reports on rare and minor metals companies

Mesa Uranium engages Continental Metallurgical Services

Mesa Uranium Corp. (TSX-V: MSA) has engaged Continental Metallurgical Services (CMS), a full service provider of metallurgical engineering, plant design and economic analysis of mining projects. CMS will review metallurgical and engineering reports, update capital costs and develop an economic analysis per NI 43-101 standards to determine the viability of mine development for the Pine Valley potash project in southwestern Utah.

Technical assistance is also being provided by CMS for the Green Energy lithium project, a mineral-rich brine project located in southeastern Utah.

Kasbah updates on drilling at Achmmach Project

Kasbah Resources (ASX: KAS) announces the latest drilling results from the Achmmach Tin Project in Morocco.

Wide zones of tin mineralisation continue to be intersected within the Meknes Zone at Achmmach. Drilling has continued to define additional, potentially economic tin widths and grades between 200 m – 400 m below natural surface. This improves the interpretation of the deeper resources defined within the Meknes Zone. Operating concurrently with the Meknes Zone drilling, the Shallow Targets drilling program seeks to define tin mineralisation potentially mineable by open pit methods.

YTC Resources intersects gold at Hera Project, NSW

YTC Resources (ASX: YTC) announces a high-grade gold and base metal intersection from drilling into the upper section of the Far West Lens at the Hera Project. This is just outside the existing resources shell.

Drill hole TNY005W2 intersected:

10m @ 10.65g/t Au, 38g/t Ag, 6.52% Pb and 12.83% Zn from 594m

Signature Metals discovers manganese at Konongo Project, Ghana

Signature Metals (ASX: SBL) announces a potentially significant manganese discovery at the Konongo Project.

Rock chip samples from manganese outcrops at surface have returned values up to 40.3% Mn. Significantly, seven of nineteen samples returned values over 30% Mn. This is an early indication that this material may be of sufficient quality to be mined and shipped directly to customers.

The Konongo Project is located on the main highway approximately 200 kilometres north west of Accra, the capital of Ghana. Port facilities are available at Tema near Accra and at Takoradi located 300 kilometres south of Konongo. Both of these could be accessed via sealed roads.

Norwest Energy’s SPP closure and farm-in update

Norwest Energy NL (ASX: NWE) advises that the Share Purchase Plan announced on 28 July 2010 has closed with a total of 114,423,085 SPP shares subscribed for by shareholders. The Shares issued pursuant to the SPP were issued at a price of 2.6 cents and the issue raised $2,975,000.

Farm-in Update

Further to the announcement of 19 August 2010 regarding the Letter of Intent executed between Norwest Energy NL (Norwest) and Bharat PetroResources Limited (BPRL), Norwest expects that the Farm-in documents will be executed in Perth by the parties in Perth during the middle of September.
