Barker announces drilling to begin on its Mag Gold Project

Barker Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: BML) has announced that in consideration of its seasonal accessibility, it has begun preparations for a 900 metre exploratory drilling program on its Mag Gold project which is located 35 kilometres southeast of Quesnel, British Columbia.

The Mag Gold project is ideally situated with excellent year round access and strong infrastructure and is also located in the prolific Quesnel Trough mining district of B.C.

Austmine headed to Carajas Mineral Province, Brazil; April 15-20 2012

Austmine in partnership with Vale and Trade & Investment Queensland announces it will lead a mission to the world class Carajas Mineral Province in northern Brazil, 15 – 20 April 2012, and first-hand experience the gigantic open-cut operations and production plants, visit the mining hub in Belo Horizonte as well as meeting with Vale’s procurement executives at the headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.

Vale is the world’s biggest producer of iron ore and pellets, with the world’s largest operation located in Carajás, in the state of Para in Northern Brazil.

“Carajás is one of the richest iron ore provinces in the world with the highest levels of iron content found are 67% on average,” said Robert Trzebski, Executive Officer at Austmine.

The world’s second largest miner recently announced investments of US$21.5 billion for 2012, including 60.5 % for project execution globally. The investment budget package also includes US$2.4 billion (11%) for research and development of innovative technologies in collaboration with leading service providers.

Austmine is also convening a mission to Russia in Moscow (24-26 April) on the 16th International Exhibition and Conference, Mining World Russia 2012, for the mining and processing of metals and minerals. The mission will also include meetings with Russia’s leading mining companies.

Tarsis Resources Ltd. (TSX: TCC) has announced that the financing announced on January 24, 2012 was oversubscribed. As a result, Tarsis increased the offering to $1.2 million to accommodate certain investors who may be able to assist the Company with future growth plans and future financings.

Pacific Wildcat releases diamond drilling updates from Mrima Hill

Pacific Wildcat Resources Corp. (TSXV: PAW) has reported that assay results from recent diamond drilling at the company’s Mrima Hill deposit in southeastern Kenya have confirmed lateral and depth extensions to the high grade niobium and TREO mineralization previously reported.

The mineralized zone for both has now been shown to extend from surface to below 100 m. vertical depth and in many places remains open both laterally and at depth. Assay highlights include 54.4 m at 1.27% Nb2O5 and 24.5m. at 8.92% TREO.

Minotaur’s SA Kaolin Project has maiden resource measured

Minotaur Exploration Limited (ASX: MEP) has reported a significant resource upgrade to deliver the Company’s maiden JORC Measured kaolin resource at the Carey’s Well project near Poochera on the west coast of SA’s Eyre Peninsula.

Highlights:

Maiden Measured resource for Minotaur’s 100% owned kaolin resource at Carey’s Well in South Australia.
Carey’s Well is one of several co-located kaolin deposits in EL 4575, near Poochera. • Infill drilling and processing has allowed most of the Carey’s Well “bright white” kaolin resource to be upgraded from Inferred to Measured status.
A Measured Resource of 16.3 million tonnes of “bright white” kaolinised granite is estimated using an ISO Brightness R457 cut-off of 75 for minus 45 micron kaolin product.
The 16.3 million tonnes of in situ “bright white” kaolinised granite will yield 8.0 million tonnes of minus 45 micron quality kaolin product.

Impact’s new drill programme gets underway at Yarrabubba JV Project

Impact Minerals Limited (ASX: IPT) has announced the commencement of a drill programme at its 20% owned Yarrabubba Project located 50 km south east of Meekatharra in Western Australia.

The drill programme will comprise about 1,500 m of reverse circulation (RC) drilling and will test part of a large area of interest 6 km by 5 km in dimension with coincident molybdenum, copper and zinc-in-soil responses identified by previous soil geochemistry surveys.

Cue Energy: 10 more days until total depth at Naga Utara-1 Well is achieved

Cue Energy Resources Ltd (ASX: CUE) has provided the following update on the drilling status of Naga Utara-1. The well is located within the Mahakam Hilir PSC in the Kutei basin, Indonesia. The well operator is SPC Mahakam Hilir PTE Ltd (SPC).

It is proposed to drill to a total depth of 5500 ft Measured Depth (MD) and is expected to take approximately 10 more days to complete including well testing if required.

As of 8th February 2012 the well is at 4843 ft MD. The 9 5/8 inch casing was set in the previous section down to 3003 ft and the 8 1/2 inch hole is currently being drilled. Multiple hydrocarbon shows were encountered below 3040 feet and a high pressure gas flow occurred at the current depth. Operator is currently increasing the mud weight and preparing to evaluate using wireline logging from the last casing point to current TD.

Forthcoming operations will be reassessed after logging is completed and a further update will be provided.

Magellan drills gold and continues to extend mineralised zone at Serra along Strike Coringa Project

Magellan Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: MNM) has reported results from the last seven drill holes from the 2011 diamond drilling program, at the Coringa project, Brazil.

As with previous holes reported, these are all step-out and exploration holes aimed at expanding the existing resources of 269,450oz of gold in the measured and indicated categories (982,291t @ 8.53 g/t), and 98,224oz of gold in the inferred category (327,054t @ 9.34 g/t).

Highlights:

1.0m @ 32.6 g/t gold in hole 160 at Serra which was drilled on the northern strike extent of the Serra zone 50m north of hole 148 (1.5m @ 11.73 g/t gold)
4m @ 2.87 g/t gold including 0.5m @ 16.0g/t gold in hole 157 at Meio-Onca which is located 400m south of main Meio zone in an area with no previously reported values of interest.
2.9m @ 1.95 g/t gold including 1.0m @ 2.86g/t in hole 154 at Come Quieto located 95m north of hole 151 (2.0m @ 6.07g/t).

Barker Updates on Exploratory Drilling on its Black Bear Project

Barker Minerals Ltd. (TSX V: BML) has reported that leading up to the end of 2011 it prepared for, and began, exploration drilling in and around the high grade silver and gold Providence prospect.

The drill holes are part of a NI-43-101 recommended 900 metre drill program which will focus on the high grade mineralization exposed in bedrock. The 100% owned project on China Mountain is located 74 km northeast of Williams Lake, in the Cariboo region of British Columbia. The project has excellent access and infrastructure.
