Signature Metals (ASX: SBL) reports for the quarter ended 31 December 2009.

HIGHLIGHTS:

• Completed the acquisition of 70% of the Konongo Gold Project by issuing 50 million shares to Mwana Africa PLC
• Drilling continued with five diamond core drill holes completed for 1,308 metres during the quarter for a total of eight holes for 2,789 metres. Drilling has re-commenced for 2010.
• More exceptional drill results announced from diamond drilling at the Obenemase Deposit including:
  • 1 metre at 438 g/t gold from 147 metres (09KGDR007)
  • 2 metres at 13.5 g/t gold from 165 metres (09KGDR007)
  • 16 metres at 9.76g/t gold from 170 metres (09KGDR007)
  • 5 metres at 7.25g/t gold from 200 metres (09KGDR007)
  • 15 metres at 9.12g/t gold from 46 metres (09KGDR009)
  • 3 metres at 7.98g/t gold from 207 metres (09KGDR009)
• Highly encouraging results announced from aircore drilling of the Old Konongo Tailings Dam including:
  • 12 metres at 2.24 g/t gold from surface (KGAC003)
  • 20 metres at 1.76 g/t gold from surface (KGAC004)
  • 16 metres at 2.00 g/t gold from surface (KGAC008)
  • 12 metres at 1.86 g/t gold from surface (KGAC047)
  • 12 metres at 1.96 g/t gold from surface (KGAC048)
  • 16 metres at 2.06 g/t gold from surface (KGAC052)
  • 16 metres at 1.75g/t gold from surface (KGAC056)
  • 12 metres at 1.85 g/t gold from surface (KGAC063)
  • 16 metres at 2.12 g/t gold from surface (KGAC064)
  • 16 metres at 2.14 g/t gold from surface (KGAC065)
• Fast tracking a strategy to bring the Konongo Gold Project rapidly into production, with potential for early cash flow from reclamation of stockpiles and tailings dam.
• Mining study based on existing JORC Resources of approximately one million ounces nearing completion.
• Past production from Konongo Gold Project of 1.6 million ounces at a head grade of 11.8g/t gold.
• Exploration Target* of 1.5 – 2.5 million ounces of gold at a resource grade of 2-4g/t gold.
