MEC Resources corrects reports on timing for survey offshore Sydney September 23, 2009

MEC Resources (ASX: MMR) advises that media reports regarding the timing of a small-scale geophysical site survey in PEP 11 as taking place between October 2009 and September 2010 are inaccurate.

MMR’s investee Advent Energy (“Advent”) is progressing plans to drill in PEP 11, offshore Sydney Basin, following the lodging of necessary applications for environmental approval.

Advent has made two separate submissions to the Department of Environment and Water, Heritage and the Arts to carry out a small-scale geophysical site survey in PEP 11 and for approval to drill one exploration well in the permit.

The survey will take place following the receipt of the required approvals.
