During the second quarter of 2009, Hillgrove Resources (ASX: HGO) sold its investment in Eastern Star Gas Limited. At the same time, Hillgrove bought back the Convertible Bonds on issue. Hillgrove’s key operating assets now comprise the Kanmantoo Copper Gold Project, its Indonesian exploration acreage where it is targeting the discovery of Tier 1 gold and copper gold ore bodies and cash of $127 million.

Australian oil and gas producer, Mosaic Oil NL (ASX: MOS) today announced a net profit after tax of $2.6 million for the year ended 30 June 2009 after allowing for impairment of $2.5 million for exploration and development assets and a provision of $1.7 million.

Today Liberty Resources (ASX: LBY) received a letter of acceptance to become a legal member of the Global Carbon Capture and Storage (“CCS”) Institute. Liberty Resources applied for the membership earlier this year, as part of the company’s initiatives to be in the front line of battle against climate change.

Haoma Mining NL (ASX: HAO) reports final assay results from initial drilling of the main southern hill at the Mt Webber iron ore prospect. This comes off the back of HAO’s announcement two days ago. Mt Webber is part of the Company’s Daltons Joint Venture (Haoma 25% interest with Giralia Resources NL (“Giralia”) 75% interest), located 150 kilometres south of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Haoma retains rights to 100% of the gold/silver and tin/tantalum mineralisation.
